Older people who remain physically active manage to slow down or attenuate and even reverse many of the effects of age, which has a positive impact on both the person directly and society.

Exercise is a neurocognitive protector. It prevents and delays cognitive impairment, both because of its influence on cardiovascular risk factors and because of the cognitive stimulation it generates.

Physical activity helps the elderly maintain and restore strength, balance, flexibility, and endurance of the circulatory system. These four areas are important for staying healthy and independent. These are some of the objectives of this activity:

What is SeniorFIT?

SeniorFIT is an activity directed, planned, organized and repeated regularly, which aims to maintain and / or improve the overall fitness of our subscribers over 60 years of age. Also, another objective of the activity is the learning of the realization of the exercises.

Weekly there are SeniorFIT activities both dry and in water, differentiated by the different work objectives: Cardio, Strength and Equilibrium.


The activity SeniorFIT Cardio they are important exercises to maintain the physical condition since they facilitate the accomplishment of the activities of the daily life, displacements, to climb stairs, etc ...

These types of exercises help prevent or postpone the onset of cardiovascular disease and particularly diseases such as ischemic heart disease and heart failure.


With SeniorFIT Strength you will work muscle strength is one of the bodily functions that declines with age as muscle mass decreases. This decrease is called sarcopenia and includes both the loss of the amount of muscle fibers and the loss of their quality due to aging.

Strength exercises aim to increase muscle mass and strength, or at least help decrease age-associated loss of muscle mass. They are important for performing daily activities such as gaining weight, getting up from a chair without problems, loading shopping or walking at a steady pace and a safe pace.


In the activity SeniorFIT Equilibrium balance, stretching, proprioception, breathing, relaxation as well as coordination and joint mobility will be worked on. All of these aspects help prevent injuries during physical activity as well as prevent falls. Who can do SeniorFIT?
